RIP Dennis Davis

Dennis Davis, Bowies drummer in the period from "Young Americans" to "Scary Monsters" has died from cancer.

Dennis Davis & George Murray were one of my favourite rhythm sections ever, absolutely brilliant.

No slouch as a bass player too; he played on Boys Keep Swinging when he and George Murray swapped instruments.

Yep, in response to one of Eno's "Oblique Strategies" cards which said "Reverse roles", Dennis played bass and Carlos Alomar played drums. I guess George sat that one out. btw Wikipedia also has Tony Visconti down as bass on BKS so who knows who did what.

Although DD gets huge props for his Bowie involvement - and rightly so, it's my favourite Bowie period as well - he also did an early 80s stint with Stevie Wonder including this gem
