Jathan Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Hi all, I have a 4 ohm Ashdown 575 watt RMS bass amp head and currently am using an 8 ohm cab with it which is rated at 600W. Does anyone know what the head outputs to each speaker if I were to connect up another 8 ohm cab? I have been looking at a 300 watt Ashdown 210 but not sure if that would handle enough and I can't find anything online that clarifies. Thanks! Quote
luckydog Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) That would be 288W rms per cab at the onset of clipping. That would be seriously loud, and most of the time you won't come anywhere close. Personally, I'd feel fine about a 300W rms rated cab in your situation, but the more important factor in deciding IMO is how the rig sounds at normal playing levels. HTH! Lw. Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 It's worth reading the pinned "impedence etc..." Thread on here, though you've already been given the answer. You should be fine - I've never run an amp to full blast when having 2 cabs attached. Quote
Jathan Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 Great, thanks chaps. I appreciate the replies. I have only ever used combos and this is my first amp head and cabs. Quote
jezzaboy Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I have the same amp into 2x Mi bass 12" cabs, rated at 250 watts and 8ohms each. It will be dinky doo! Quote
