casapete Posted April 11, 2016 Share Posted April 11, 2016 I've used D'Addarios, EXL170S sets for years on my Danos. Slightly lighter gauge than you specify though at 45-65-80-100, but good sounding and last me for ages. Have tried Fenders and didn't like them either. tedmanzie Posted April 15, 2016 Share Posted April 15, 2016 I had DR Sunbeams short scale (nickel wound with round core) on my 32" scale P-Bass and they were great and also exactly the gauge you specify. You may recall (now I have said it) that you were selling the strings - I bought them. After a bit of chat we came to realise that it was the same bass they were going back on I believe I bought the bass from the guy you sold it to (Kristo).
