I've used D'Addarios, EXL170S sets for years on my Danos. Slightly lighter gauge than you specify though
at 45-65-80-100, but good sounding and last me for ages. Have tried Fenders and didn't like them either.

I had DR Sunbeams short scale (nickel wound with round core) on my 32" scale P-Bass and they were great and also exactly the gauge you specify. Highly recommended, if I hadn't foolishly sold the bass I would still be using them...

+1.

Don't know how they compare to the Fenders, but great strings IMO.

Are you heartened by the fact that I still am, though? :)

Ha! Yes I am :)
Did it have the DR rounds on or the shortscale TI Flats?
Both were great on that bass!

It had something completely different on when it arrived. You may recall (now I have said it) that you were selling the strings - I bought them. After a bit of chat we came to realise that it was the same bass they were going back on :) I believe I bought the bass from the guy you sold it to (Kristo). Still my best and favourite :)

Oh yes I do remember now.

There you go Fuzzbass2000 - two votes for the DR's!

It's American but my friends and I have ordered here and not incurred any import charges. It's the cheapest even with the postage.
