Lakland Darryl Jones 5 - TRADED

Hi all,
my Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones 5 strings is now for sale.

It's a very nice one, but I actually don't need a 5 strings similar to the Jazz Bass Re'75 that I own (same woods, similar pickups and electronics).

White ash body, maple neck and fingerboard with white block inlays. It comes with extra tortoise and black pickguards (non original). Mint condition!
OHSC with a little crack on a side.

I'd like so much to visit UK and deliver it by myself, such as I did last September with my Warwick, but this time it seems harder to me to do it. You’re pretty welcome to come and try here

Looking for reasonable offers.
No longer open to trades
Shipping fees are 39 to 44 GBP

I feel more comfortable here:

and here:

(mind the shipping and customer fees)

believe me, conditions are excellent

I know I couldn't be the cheapest way. I'm trying to sell it at a decent price for both sides. Edited by muya

As a DJ5 owner I'm with Homer on this one.

1. No-one sells at list, not even The Gallery.

2. Bass Central after shipping and duty, etc. equates to about £870 delivered.

Both those are new bass prices. Used will take at least a 25% hit.

Good luck with the sale. I'll be following with interest.

Muya, I'm afraid I'm with Homer and obbm on this. I can only assume that 'conditions' in Italy (love your country BTW) are better than over here  There's been a few guys in these parts trying to sell some 'higher end' basses without success. One of these also kept appearing on e-bay a couple of months back started at £950, then went down to £895, then .... all the way down to £750 and I'm still not sure it actually sold. We've had two or three quarter point raises in interest rates since then as well :)

Anyway, there might be someone out there, desperate to get their hands on a 2nd hand DJ before the weekend, cost no object. Ya never know! Best 'a luck with the sale.

Let's not forget that the one Rumble is referring to had a J-retro fitted and as far as I can remember was unsold at £750 with an incredibly reasonable £20 carriage and it even included a skyline case. I'm almost certain it had some other mod too?

There's something about the DJ to me that screams rosewood board. The natural one looks great with maple though.

Saying that though I recently sold a Kramer Baretta guitar on ebay for top dollar as a BIN with Best Offer after having at least five messages telling me I was way over the mark with what I was asking. Though I suppose you can't get new ones of them. Anyway good luck, muya.

@Largo: Of course I meant EUR....1388EUR is what I meant ;-)

@Rumble: Conditions in Italy aren't good as you're supposing they are. Actually, the life cost in UK is definitely higher than Italian one, but the selling price for this bass here in Italy is the same I posted here. I can't define the price in function of what happens in The Bass Centre (the same for The Gallery in Camden, or BassCentral or even Thomann), as long as the right price cannot be defined in function of an eBay auction. Last year I sold my Warwick 6BO to a happy Bassworld user, while Italian bass players were complaining a high price. This time it's upside down :-) Concerning my opinion, both times the price was the right one. I can negotiate it, of course, but I'm not interested on giving away this bass to a low price, so it can wait many weekends here in my room without playing even a note.
Rumble, if you love my country you're too far away from the way I love yours. It's 3 years in a row (since I have a job and I can afford it) that I come to England for vacancies. This year I have a house to build and just a week holiday in mid-august, so the streak is break.

Bump, by the way! :-D

Ok, ok...more than one month later and after many refused trade requests it's still closed into the hardcase and unused under the bed.

Reasonable money offers or trades are accepted.
Hi muya - it might be worth editing your first post cos I think people see the price there and then don't see your last post because they look no further.
Nice advice homer, I already edited some bits of the first post a couple days ago......but not yet in the most important parts of it :)

PM replied, rockinbassman

The bass may be sold later in the afternoon to a fellow bassist a few km from home
