Happy Jack Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Guys, I need to learn this by Wednesday and I can't find a download for it. Does anyone have an mp3 they can email to me? It's the one that goes "I wanna know ... will you be my girl". I think it was covered by DJ Otzi (?) for the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing. Quote
Stingray5 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I don't have an mp3 but here's a link to 'Hey Baby' (Bruce Chanel) on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4w1Mp6Mce4 If required, you could use Ripzor.com to d/l the video (flv) to your system. Hope this helps. Quote
Happy Jack Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 Jeez - embarassing or what? There's me looking for Bruce Chanel when all I had to do was find Dirty Dancing. Thanks guys. Quote

molan Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Just a quick note to say that the wonderful Youtubedownloader will first save the flv file for you and then convert it to MP3 in the quality of your choice so you can transfer to iPod etc. Quote
casapete Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Has anyone ever noticed all the bum bass notes in 'Hey Baby'? Sounds like the bassist was on a first run through in the studio and they kept it! Wrong but kinda right too!! Wonderful stuff. Quote

Back then, studio time and tape was very expensive so, if the feel was right they kept it! Listen to Stax, Atlantic and the Rock and Roll of that time. There are bum notes everywhere. On Soul Man by Sam and Dave, Duck Dunn misses the first chorus and starts playing another verse! And they released it just like that!! Quote

Until you pointed it out as an error, I always assumed that the fill was deliberate. Quote
