I do want to buy one I do but I spent all my money on an old trace amp and a wireless............... I'm so sad :(

My son seems strangely cheerful about the whole thing though <_<

I'm not going to go starting a new thread, just curious...any date set for the 2017 bash?

This!

I'd be happy to help set one up.

IIRC there are issues using the previous venue - anybody know of one where it could be held?

The Charmandean Centre in Worthing? I'm sure Nik would be the best person to yay or nay on this one, mind you.

Worthing would be a bit far for those of us coming from that London

In truth, the logical home for the "South East Bassbash" would be Central London.

Just saying ...

Oh that would be lovely what with all the easy parking and no traffic :D

Oh aye, last year was my first and I had an absolute blast - really looking forward to this year and will drive up to wherever it is (within reason)

Just saying that as the south-east is a pretty big area, you can't really complain about where it's held as it's going to be a fair drive for someone

The SE Bash is the best attended of all, so what works fine for smaller bashes will not necessarily work in its case. The requirements are:

- a venue that's easy enough to reach by car and has lots of parking; extra points if it's close to a train station and bus services
- several large rooms, separated from each other ideally by soundproof doors
- ideally a nice foyer area for BC sales tables and the raffle
- basic kitchen facilities and toilets

The ground floor of a school would usually fulfill all of those requirements, but there can also be other suitable places.

I could make enquiries at my local school (I have contacts there through hiring for the rugby club).

Burgess Hill is central Sussex and only an hour from London by train.

What's the problem with the usual venue?

Says he who lives two minutes drive away!!!

There's a few village halls near to me (Crowthorne) that would be ideal; most have staging areas that would be good for the clinics, plenty of parking. I'd be happy to enquire on pricing.

Hi Folks

Sorry - only just seen this... There's been a bereavement in the family so other than having a very cursory look at the site (usually the For Sale threads), I've not been paying too much attention any where else...

So, just to say that the above comments are correct in that we don't know for definite whether or not we can use the site that we've been using for the last 9 years, and it is linked to the fact that Hamster (Colin) is no longer the premises manager at the school.

But, Colin has been in touch with the Business Manager at the school to see if we can use it again this year and we are waiting for their answer. We should know soon (one way or another) and at that point we can either set a date for the Bash in the normal place or hunt around for somewhere new.

My personal view is that the excellent facilities of the school combined with it's location with good transport links has helped make the SE Bash what it is, so if we can retain the school, I'm very keen to do so..

Nik

Quick heads up..

This year's SE Bash will be at the school in Addlestone as per normal, and will be held on Saturday 23rd September.

Will do a brand new thread for it over the weekend.
