NBD: Ibanez fan fret

The fan definitely isn't as noticeable and it does make a difference to the feel, particularly higher up and lower down the fretboard.

By the way, if you haven't already, round off the edges of the nut before you cut yourself. Even a nail file will do, just mask the fingerboard off beforehand.

To be honest, I don't notice that much of a difference. I certainly don't have a problem with the 1605, which I am guessing is similar to yours, and the 805 is pretty good.

The fan was a lot more severe on the Dingwall, and the scale in general was one of the minor issues - my hands aren't that big and 37" is really getting a bit crazy. The B was very good on that, but I went from that to the 1605 (was an exchange on here) and didn't have an issue. The fan wasn't really that noticable on the dingwall either until you got near the close end.

Lovely bass, Ibanez are on point right now.
[/quote]Ain't that the truth. The SRF705 Portamento is the best off-the-peg fretless I've ever played.
Bah. GAS.

I've decided to sell my SRFF806 as the neck is just a little bit slim for me (I have some hand issues). As new, freshly set up and listed in the Classifieds.

Dave Swift loves his srff806. Loads of quality bass for the money.
