LewisK1975 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I'm going to be in the Reading area on Friday and should have an hour or so to spare, thought I might pop along as I've not been there yet. Been to Bass direct and the Gallery a few times, but Bass Gear has eluded me. Opinions? Should I go there or have a nice pub lunch instead!?! Quote
franzbassist Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Definitely go. The shop is well stocked with lots of lovely stuff and the lads are super friendly. Quote
Stylon Pilson Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I'd also vote for going there. One of the friendliest music shops I've ever been in. S.P. Quote
Lw. Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Go there - got some great stuff in that often isn't available in a lot of other music stores. Plus the pubs in Reading are terrible for food so you'd have to go out to one of the villages for a decent pub lunch anyway. Quote
Dan Dare Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Yes. Worth a visit. Dangerous place - plenty of temptation. Appropriately, the address is Gas (G.A.S) Lane Nice chaps who run it. As Lw says, find a local for lunch (ask the chaps for suggestions). Quote
CamdenRob Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Is it possible to go and still have a pub lunch or is that the choice? .... Pub lunches are pretty good. Quote
fretmeister Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 It's a nice place. Vic seems to like hats even when it's hot. Quote

LewisK1975 Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016
Get in there Lew. Well worth a visit
Well, based on the feedback so far Kert, I think I will be! Quote
FuNkShUi Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I spent four hours odd in there about a year ago. Prepare to go down the rabbit hole! Quote
FuNkShUi Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 And come out the other end with a significantly lighter wallet Quote
TheGreek Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Molan is co-owner of Bass Gear. He's a member here and has often been able to answer questions I've had about gear. I believe there's a discount for BCers (though don't quote me on this). Quote
LewisK1975 Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 Ah yes, trouble is I'm going to Reading to sell a bass, which will mean I'll have quite a full wallet going in there!.....Perhaps better just drive home and pay it in the bank..... Quote
