ahpook
Just got back from the doctors, a bit of a follow up on a appointment a month or so ago. Anyhoo - most likely DO have a ganglion in my right wrist and an MRI is being arranged. However, this has made me realise that I have odd aches and pains in both my wrists that might be helped by improving my posture when playing, so a trip to a bass tutor who's knowledgeable about such things could be in order. Anyone know a good bass tutor in North London who's a whizz on posture and related problems ? Edited April 20, 2016 by ahpook
such
not sure about his take on those particular topics, but I would give a shout to Mike Mondesir (current Billy Cobham's bassist). Lives in Stratford area if I remember correctly. He is a good teacher, goes deep. I even know of singers and pianists who take lessons from him. Joe Hubbard is somewhere to the north as well, but it might be outside the town already. Speaking of which, Dave Marks is based in St Albans and is a seriously good tutor too. RhysP
You'd be better off going to an Alexander Technique practitioner for this than a bass teacher IMO.

Steve Woodcock
Hi ahpook, I teach in west London (Chiswick) and correcting playing posture is one of the first things I cover with my students. Feel free to PM me to see if there is any help I can give you.
