Sambrook Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I'm just about to pay the deposit on a custom Marusczyck, and Adrian has requested a bank transfer to his own account. I know I'm being slightly paranoid, but is that how you other M. users have paid? It just seems very slightly less than 'German'. I was expecting a payment webpage and all that jazz. Any reassurance will be gratefully received... Quote
discreet Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I'm sure it'll be fine. If you're still worried, transfer the funds to me - they can rest in my account until needed. Quote
discreet Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Always happy to help a fellow Basschatter! Quote
Sibob Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Yup, standard for all Maruszczyk payments, including my custom. Si Quote
wateroftyne Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Me too. Use Transferwise. A doddle to set up, and far cheaper and less hassle than using your bank. Quote
keefbaker Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Yeah, half first into his account, second half with sofa shot. Quote

keefbaker Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 That would be an accurate description, yes. Quote
ezbass Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Yeah, this is how it's done. Half for the work to be done, then you get the 'sofa shot' and a request for the balance. It's a bit of a pain you have to pay the transfer fee twice and the exchange rate can be worse by the time the bass is completed (although it could go the other way of course. It didn't for me ). wateroftyne Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016
It's a bit of a pain you have to pay the transfer fee twice
Transferwise! I paid about £2.50 a pop for each of my transfers :-) Quote
Sambrook Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Thanks chaps, that's the reassurance I wanted Quote

RBS charged me £20 altogether (well they've got to recoup their losses from somewhere I guess). However, none of this detracts from the bargain I think Adrian's basses are even with the additional charge and exchange rate fluctuations. Quote

tom1946 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I just paid for my bass upfront. No problems. Quote
