Graham Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Love this performance http://youtu.be/6SFNW5F8K9Y Quote
Twincam Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016
What a crappie year. And it's only April! RIP
Has certainly been the worst in my memory/view for talented people leaving us. Quote
RhysP Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Unbelievable. One of the greatest live performers I've ever seen. Quote
discreet Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016
This is getting ridiculous now, 57!!????
Bit close for comfort, really... That is NOT old. Quote
taunton-hobbit Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Sad news - so much talent, so young. We are rapidly running out of our musical icons, it's very unnerving......... Quote
Roger2611 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Just shocking, at this rate there isn't going to be any celebs left by September, this really is a crap year. I only downloaded the track Paisley Park last week RIP to a fine showman Quote
hairychris Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Bad. Never a fan as such but always had massive respect for him as a showman and musical genius. RIP. Quote
Japhet Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 What a horrendous year. Thought he was an absolute genius. Quote
lojo Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Just heard this whilst I was out , rest sad he was still young There's gonna be a scramble for the vault Quote
steantval Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 It's true, yet another amazing musician lost this year, 2016 is looking to be a bad year so far. Quote
timmo Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Never really liked his music, but he was one hell of a great guitarist. It is sad news. Interestingly, there was an article on, I think, the BBC. It went on too say that there are seemingly more deaths because of the way celebrity has come about. Before the 50`s, the celebrities were film stars, but since the rise of pop music, and TV there are so many celebrities in their 60`s plus, so it is inevitable that it just seems more. If you think that people like David Gest had celebrity status, then it is no wonder there seems so many Quote
bubinga5 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Im not quite sure what to say. My favourite musician of all time and in my opinion the best of the 20th century is gone, I'm speechless. !!!!!!! that has really taken me aback. !! Its the only time the death of a musician, i didn't know has upset me. Edited April 21, 2016 by bubinga5 Quote
skej21 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 The void left by all of the music he still had left to contribute is the bit that hurts the most. Truly an icon. 'Sometimes it snows in April, Sometimes I feel so bad, Sometimes I wish that life was never ending, But all good things they say, never last' :-( Quote
NickD Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Haggard, Rickman and Wood... no fair... That could have been all of One Direction and that Sam Smith bloke! It's a big loss. Not always to my taste, but an incredible body of work, always changing and always pretty original. RIP fella! Quote
lowdown Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Bad, bad news. A terrific, talented musician who composed some truly great numbers for himself and others. Some top, top musicians have played on his sessions and in his touring bands. R.I.P Quote
leschirons Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 That's a huge loss to music. So sad. The guy probably still had loads to give the world. Quote
