lou24d53 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I'm still getting over Bowie, absolutely gutted at this news. Quote
ambient Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Not a hoax, they just mentioned it on Classic FM. Quote
Stance Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Just heard it in the news..... Not a big fan, but still loved some of his tunes (and his musicality!) RIP Edited April 21, 2016 by Stance Quote
Bo0tsy Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Gutted. What an incredibly funky talented musician. Quote
4stringslow Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016
Crikey. What is going on this year?
Nothing really, well nothing that can't be explained by the massive increase in the number of celebrities these days, dating back to the 1950s when popular music became a phenomenon, then the rise of television celebrities, then the internet making more people more aware of more celebrities, etc etc. Not my ideas though: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b076prgl Quote
kevvo66 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 That's real sad very talented artist and another great loss☹️ Quote

CPCustomdubwise Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I am utterly gutted...for all the preening he was a spectacular talent and the world feels emptier without him. This year feels like a massacre! Quote
blue Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I'm devastated. One of the few that could take something from inside his head, share it and put millions in a great state of mind. Huge loss. Rest In Power Prince Blue Edited April 21, 2016 by blue Quote
colgraff Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I heard that he has enough material recorded for another 50 - 100 albums. Could be some gems in there that will be one day released. Quote
krispn Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I bet he passed on the one - pro til the end! I am/was a massive Prince fan. You can debate all day long but the guy had chops, groove, style and integrity. I've shed a tear, watched classic footage and bust out some vinyl and now the mazcal has been bust out I feel a celebration oncoming! Quote
pete.young Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Is there no end in sight to the bad news? Prince now. RIP dude to a true genius. Quote
interpol52 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I cant believe this. Edited April 21, 2016 by interpol52 Quote
HowieBass Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 The Grim Reaper is definitely taking the piss this year; can't believe how many talented souls have left us recently. Quote
ubit Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Very sad news. He was an incredible musician, not just on guitar, but a superb bass player too Quote
interpol52 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Truly shocking, my girlfriend told me about half an hour ago and it genuinely stopped me in my tracks. I loved Prince, in the 80's and early 90's especially. I remember watching documentary on him around the time he did the Batman soundtrack, amazing musician. Quote
icastle Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 NOTE: I have merged the OT thread on the same subject to this one. Quote
