Andyjr1515 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Wow - that's quite something Cracking job! Quote
sblueplanet Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 That is a work of art never mind a working instrument. Quote
Bastav Posted January 28, 2017 Author Posted January 28, 2017 Thanks! The working instrument bit remains to be seen Quote
Bastav Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 And done! I had a bit of a scare when I was installing the pots and a piece of wenge fell out the top. I glued it back in and luckily the knobs cover most of the damage. Phew. I would probably have thrown this thing out rather than start over on the finishing. First impressions are good. The finish isn´t perfect but if you don´t look too close it looks pretty good Quote
Andyjr1515 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Something odd is happening with the images on my desktop. Can everyone else see them? Quote
Andyjr1515 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 It's OK - I can see them fine on the iPad:) And they are WONDERFUL! Speechless. Stunning. Quote
sblueplanet Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Looks amazingly shiny to me. Love the hole on the headstock. Given the massive top horn carve on this, how long did it take to work out where best to put the two strap buttons? Quote
Bastav Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 Thanks! Yeah i did spend some time pondering where to place the strap buttons. I figured, this way, the buttons dont show when looking at the front, and the balance is good. Quote
