jimbartlett Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Just installed this on my Gibson T-Bird. Solid as a rock and so much better than the stock bridge in how easy it is to adjust string height and intonation! Plugging in now for a practice so it'll be interesting to see tonal changes (if any).... Quote
jimbartlett Posted April 23, 2016 Author Posted April 23, 2016 Sounds different in a good way, at lot more "alive" if that makes sense? Piano type tones. Quote
jimbartlett Posted April 25, 2016 Author Posted April 25, 2016 I was so pleased I got a chrome one for the SG Bass too. Quote
SingleMalt Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Looks great, I've been thinking about one of these or maybe the babicz for my SG Special as well. My main issue with the standard bridge is that the sharp corners can get quite painful when I'm muting the bridge. Quote
jimbartlett Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 My mate has a babicz and it is good too. This is perfect for palm muting! I had the same issue as you. Quote
3below Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 With my Supertone bridge (Gibbo 3 point) I found the grub screws that lock the string spacing stuck out ever so slightly resulting in 'sharp' edges. Solved by screwing them in from underneath. Not as adjustment friendly but much more gentle on the palm. I did raise this (and a solution) with Hipshot. Quote
jimbartlett Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 I had a look after you posted this and they do stick out slightly but I've never noticed a problem. I must have hard skin on my hand due to the original bridge 😀 Quote

I must have hard skin on my hand due to the original bridge [/quote] My delicate palm and soft hands I suspect it was one of those thing that once noticed becomes irritating. The solution for Hipshot is quite simple and applies to all their saddles of this type. Edited May 3, 2016 by 3below Quote
jimbartlett Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Nice one, thanks for the tip! Great bridge though and I'm so pleased I took the plunge Quote
