From my musical perspective, i.e. having got into music in the early 70s, I'm hearing shades of UFO, Badfinger and (latterly) Rival Sons... at least from the point of view of feel, harmony, genre, commercial potential and so on. This is proper songwriting with some very nice arrangements in evidence, and the playing and singing can't be faulted. I think you're most of the way there with the recording - I feel at times the vocal production lacks a bit of air and sparkle, but that's being super-critical and I'm guessing is down to the usual constraints of time and budget - however, it's nothing a thirty-grand-a-day producer can't fix... Love the 70s vibe, the cover pic, typeface, image, it works - the whole package is spot-on - it's a pity we left 12" vinyl albums behind us imho, but there it is. Great work, well done.
