franzbassist
Hi folks How well made and reliable are these things? Cheers Gareth
slaphappygarry
Pretty well made and pretty reliable. I have had one for a few years for my recording gear and it gets chucked about cars and vans regularly. Only now am I slightly worried about the condition of a few zips. On another note, i used to keep a HOT amp in it and it somewhat warped the wood by the looks of things from heat. Maybe an extreme case but a consideration for what you use it for. Other thing is mine is shallow. which means i get some studio 19" gear in it but nothing bass ish. G

Happy Jack
+1 on the zips. Routing them around corners is always a weakness, and one of my zips went at the first gig the Rockbag got used at. I binned it and replaced it with a Gator hardshell. The other thing is that those Rockbags are ridiculously heavy before you do something silly like putting a power amp into it. Gator and SKB hardshells are much lighter. bassbloke
Depending on what you're looking for, I'd suggest visiting this site for a gig skinz rack bag. Really well made and most of what they have is half price http://www.flightcasepro.co.uk/Gig-Skinz/Gig-Skinz.php
franzbassist
Thanks for all the comments guys. I've now come to my senses and will simply replace my Gator ABS case with a new one.
