Woodinblack
Anyone have the 16? I can't justify the cost of the 18 but the 16 is half the price, and am pretty happy with 8 microphone channels and 4 busses. I assume the functionality is the same but just less of. sunburstjazz1967
16 here, yep its great, 4 individual monitor mixes, 31 band eq on both FOH and the monitor sends, fx sounds really natural, gated kick drum, etc etc etc.
In addition - Main differences are the lack of multitrack recording - XR16 will only do a stereo mix - and the XR16 doesn't have Ultranet, which is used for the separate P16-M monitor mixers.
I knew about the lack of multitrack recording, and that is a bit of a shame to drop off (but again, the price difference is about double, so I can live with it). Not sure what the monitor mixers are - will have a look into that to see if it is something I need.
Dropzone
So I have finally pulled the trigger and purchased one. Is anyone aware of a decent forum to discuss these units?
FuNkShUi
There is a Behringer one somewhere. Could always ask on here though. There are a fair few users i think
Dropzone
First problem is my phone app doesn't look like the mixer in the youtube videos, I will try it on a tablet and see how I get on.
stingrayPete1977
I prefer to use my big Samsung tablet to my phone, Apple looks different to Android and laptop is different again with LOADS of extra features.
Dropzone
Thanks, that was what I was guessing, I couldn't even find the big eq strip????
Woodinblack
If you click on an individual channel, you get the panels up the top that apply to that channel. Then hitting the EQ button brings that up.
+1 it's better to work with on a bigger screen. We use a fairly cheap android tablet which works fine. Doesn't need to be too fancy as all the processing is happening inside the xr not in the tablet.
FuNkShUi
Cant imagine doing it on a phone! That must be tough to even see everything
stingrayPete1977
Once you have learnt all the functions the phone is ok, takes a while to get the hang of it but once you have its ace.
