Sferg
Hi! Picked this cab for £60 (400watt at 8ohm) but can't find any info online! What model is it and did I get a ridiculous bargain?
CamdenRob
I've absolutely no idea, but if it sounds good and goes loud then it was a bargain Edited April 29, 2016 by CamdenRob
Sferg
It only draws 250watt from the Ampeg.....but good grief! It's a monster was really just wanting to know so I could get an identical one to draw MAXIMUM POWER for live gigs.....we have a very "enthusiastic" guitarist
BassBunny
Why not send some pics to Mesa and see if they can identify it. If it's discontinued, they could suggest the replacement.
Dad3353
I'd suggest that it's a Mesa Diesel cab; they're rated at 400w and weigh quite a lot (well, a bit more, really...). If it's in good condition and sounds good, it was a bargain. Find a good chiropractor, though, and fit castors. Sferg
It looks like the diesel but most examples I could find are mounted horizontally (with the mesa logo also afixed horizontally) I'll try mesa see what they say!
Dad3353
... The Mesa Diesel 1x15 is 23.5" W, 19.25" H, and 17" D. It weighs 70 lbs. It comes in both a horizontal and vertical model (the logo and Trak-Lok casters are positioned differently on each). The stock speaker is an 8-ohm, 400 watt Electro-Voice EVM-15L. There is also a tweeter model, but you don't really need a tweeter. Some people put an EVM-15B in them for (hopefully) better bass response but that doesn't happen - you lose high end and don't gain much in the low end. The stock 15L is the right driver. If it has been swapped out, you'll just have to decide if you like the resultant sound. The Diesels are covered in black-grey textured vinyl and have steel grilles with square holes ...
Defo
My instinct is that it's helluva bargain, well done!
DGBass
Looks very much like my own mesa diesel 1x15 cab. If it has the original speaker then its likely to be an 8ohm EVM 15L rated @400watts. The original heavy duty castors are very useful for moving it around, its a heavy bit of kit but pretty much indestructible build quality. I'd say you picked up real bargain for £
