D-L-B Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 (edited) It's an old beast, circa 1980, but sounds great with a plethora of tones available from it. I'd like to keep it but to avoid going to jail I'm going to have to pay my council tax sharpish so it's up for sale. (although perpetual GAS still leaves me open to offers of trades for any gear). She has a number of scratches and dings about the place due to her age so she isn't the prettiest of ladies. £150 posted, includes gig bag. Sorry about the picture quality I only had the camera phone but can get better pics if anybody needs them. Cheers, Dan. Edited November 19, 2008 by D-L-B
Bassassin Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I have one of these - it's an RS924 - not a particularly common variety of Roadster. Weighs a ton but a great-sounding bass, particularly in passive mode, & I frequently use mine for recording. I have no idea what a reasonable asking price would be - but I doubt you'd accept what I paid for mine! Apropos of nothing, Steve Bleedin' 'Arris can be seen playing one of these in the videos for Run To The Hills & The Trooper. Jon.
Geddys nose Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I've got one the same colour but mine is minus the preamp really great bass there is a lot to like about it, don't know how much £'s though in the present climate.
NancyJohnson Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I had one of these. Damn it sounded great. I traded it in at a place in Lewisham against a Travis Bean in 1981/82 it must have been. Photo is me in action with said Ibanez. Heh. P
Bassassin Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Think you're gonna have to bite the bullet & put a price on it... J.
D-L-B Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 I never understand peoples reluctance to make offers on things up for sale. Is it some kind of English reservedness that restricts us from possibly offending the seller with a low valuation of their goods? At the end of the day (I hate using that phrase), I can say a price but it's only going to be worth whatever the potential buyer wants to pay. Have a punt!
LukeFRC Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I think its more if you see something you can begin to work out If you can afford it. nice curly lead btw

This is a pretty uncommon bass, (you won't find any in Ebay's completed listings) it's 28 years old and is by definition only worth what somebody's willing to pay for it. And by that logic, I feel I can offer you £80 for it. J.
Geddys nose Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Thats a cheap price IMO for a bass that will outperform any bass under £300.
bass_ferret Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I had one of these. Pimped it up so it was even heavier. Nice bass.
Bassassin Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 That's more like it! If I didn't already have one, I'd be sorely tempted by this for £150. Great basses. J.
