It is with deep regret I am selling this, it is a lovely player, with tone to die for, but my poor old back is struggling with the weight of it, so I have already replaced it on stage with a much lighter Jazz bass.
OK, so with some good interest, but no firm sale yet, the price is reduced to £650.00. This includes the bass, a gigbag, the new, spare scratchplate, straplocks and the "Vol/Pan/Tone" bellplate.
Don't get me wrong, its no heavier than many basses, its just that I do like to jump around a lot when playing and just too heavy for me (the same reason I don't get on with MM or Sandberg!), weighing in on the scales at exactly 4.5Kg, or 9.93lb

I bought it here about 18 months ago, and for two reasons it immediately replaced my 55-02 as my main gigging bass, 1. I mainly play in a sixties band and it looked "right" (where the 55-02 looked just plain wrong!), and 2. the sound from this thing is immense! These don't come up that often here, I suspect its because they understandably tend to be keepers...

When I first bought it, the previous owner had replaced the original bell plate with a "Vol, Pan, Tone" plate, which also had a useful little mute switch on it, but he also supplied me with the original one which it is sporting now and you are welcome to the other plate as part of the deal. When I originally picked it up it was also sporting this gorgeous red tortoise shell pickguard, which has stayed firmly put! Again, the original one supplied is also part of the deal, you can see it in one of the pics. It is brand new, still with its film on. If you came to the 2015 Mansons show, or LBGS 2016, and tried out some Markbass gear on the MSL stand you may already have played this bass, which at the time was sporting an East J-Retro. I took this off a month or so ago to put in another bass and, on playing the JO5 without it, wondered why I bothered putting it on in the first place!

So apart from the scratchplate and some Schaller straplocks (again, you can have all the parts for these!), it is as it was supplied new. The serial number starts with 0611, which makes it built November 2006, as for condition, see for yourself in the pics, taken this morning in the rather brutally revealing, bright morning sun! There are a couple of marks on it, all of which you can see, but nothing major. There are some very slight bruises on the headstock, but the varnish is not cracked. There is a very small and shallow 1cm scratch on the top waist, which you'd struggle to see, and there is a small amount of buckle rash on the back, but again no cracks or broken paint.

While I am giving so much away, you might as well have it in a perfectly serviceable Ritter gig bag!

I am not interested in trades, as I already have taken a new one in. You are welcome to come and have a play with it (I live by the A303 on the Somerset/Devon Border), or I am happy to ship it at your expense.
