M@23 Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016
Imo white is only an acceptable pickguard cover if the bass is all white , white pickguards on black basses just remind me of cheap starter basses
Yeah, me too. I dislike white pickguards, unless on white basses or reds, blues and green basses (probably a few other colours). Black/black/rosewood always looks classy though. Quote
Kex Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 Well, after all that I decided NOT to paint the bass black, was 100% sure that was what i wanted (same with the Alembic i a, selling) the black pick-guard arrived and i just tried it on the existing sunburst body, and I love it! Saves messing about with the paint and so can always return it to original if I sell etc - Quote
EssentialTension Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 A further example of black with black pearl ... Quote
Old Horse Murphy Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 (edited) I went Tort. Black looked a bit too, ummmm, black to me Edited May 22, 2016 by Old Horse Murphy Quote
Lozz196 Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 The best choice Nick. I think black basses with rosewood necks def favour tort pick-guards. Black basses with maple, well black pick-guards are the fave there, though have to say, tort is very close second. Quote
