Replacement machine heads for 62 re-issue P-Bass

Hi y'all,

Looking to replace the machine heads on my Japanese 62 reissue Precision. I've had it since 1995 and one the machine heads has failed.

What would people recommend that would drop right in?

I would look at the Hipshot range I guess, unless you wanted to search Ebay (international) for original parts. I think the bass shop 'Bass Direct' could recommend the exact fit.

The gotoh vintage reverse tuners are pretty good, I currently have them on my 64 precision and they just slotted straight in..

I replaced mine too but I wanted to use Fender/Schaller vintage tuners which have a larger plate and require the holes in the head to be expanded. It worked out great through and I'm pleased I did it :-)
