FuNkShUi
Is there a song in your set, that no matter what, gets the best reaction and/or fills the dance floor up? If i had to name one song that never fails to get people up and dancing it's "Higher and Higher".

Geek99
At the OM night(I'm the only bass player in the village) I usually sound check with Groove is in the heart - even the old folk ft start nodding
Paul S
Consistently for us it is the Steve Earle country classic 'Copperhead Road', which never ceases to amaze me as we aren't a country band playing to country audiences.

casapete
We also do Copperhead Road, ( although we are primarily a country band). Also do Guitar Town by Steve Earle, both songs always get the audience dancing. As a member also of an ELO tribute band, it is always 'Living Thing' that makes even static audiences get animated. BrunoBass
Chelsea Dagger. Never fails to get the floor filled, girls bouncing, guys with their pints held aloft. Ironically it's the least representative of what we play, and is a bit of a hangover from before I joined the band and they had a more indie direction. But when it gets the reaction it gets its difficult to let it go.

grandad
For the more mature audience there quite a were a few - 'Do You Wanna Dance', 'Everywhere and Nowhere Baby', '500 miles', 'My Girl' and most 12 bar Rock and Roll. But every 3rd number would need to be a slow one so they could get their breath back.
Muzz
Right now it's Uptown Funk - it might decline in popularity in the future, but these days it's a banker...

leftybassman392
It's been a while, but in my covers band days I seem to remember that 'Everybody needs Somebody' generally got people moving; in the function band 'Wonderwall' was pretty solid too. Ghost_Bass
Strangely, Purple Rain by Prince. Allways gets people dancing (welll... just moving to the rythm) and singing the chorus.
