SingleMalt
Hello! Firstly please forgive my lack of electronics knowledge... I've seen this question asked a few times all around the place, but my specific question has never really been answered. I'm currently working on a parts build (build log coming soon) which is having a stonking Fender Wide-Ranged Humbucker in the neck and a normal P Pickup in the usual spot (It will probably be a SD Vintage). I'm planning on using a 2 volume 1 tone layout. I believe the Humbucker would usually use a 500k pot, while a P pickup should be 250k. I really don't like the way a Precision sounds with 500k pots, and I'm concerned that using 250k across the board would lose whatever top end the not-so-wide-ranged humbucker has. What would be the effect of using a 500k volume for the neck pickup, a 250k volume for the P pickup and either a 250 or 500k for the tone? Or is there some other layout I can use to get the best of both worlds? Cheers
