phil.c60 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Following on from the recent Food Fighterz thread, just been listening to the radio and these came up: "The Chippies - an alternative Carpenters tribute" "Flabba - an overweight Abba tribute" and "Billy Noel - my Christmas solo act". I also seem to recall a Take Fat - inlcuding a "Blobby Williams" on a certain TV progamme a while ago! There must be more, surely....... Quote
Mykesbass Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I've always fancied the idea of a Yiddish Eagles tribute the Shmeagles. And turning the Chippies on their heads, could The Electricians be a tribute to Sparks? Quote
Earbrass Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I remember a "klezmer heavy metal" band, with comedians Jim Tavare on bass and Al Murray on drums, called Guns and Moses, if that counts. Quote
crez5150 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Due to the amount of kebabs and currys we eat when touring I said we she change our bands name to Arse Wind & Fire Quote

RhysP Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 What about a three piece band dressed as Donald Ducks nephews & playing the music of Huey Lewis, called "Huey, Dewey & Louie Lewis & the News". Quote
Mykesbass Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Pre tribute bands really but there was the Sid Presley Experience that took influence from all three of those artists. Quote

operative451 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I wanted to start a Band called 'Manilow Manson', which did Barry Manilow songs in the style of Marilyn Manson. I actually recorded a version of 'Can't smile without you' which sounded slightly terrifying! I think somewhere there's a metal version of 'Mandy' which is pretty epic... Quote

tauzero Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I have suggested to Mrs Zero that she could be an Alison Moyet tribute called Not 'Alf or we could do a Blondie tribute called Silvery. Quote
