SOLD: ACG Recurve SC 5 custom - now only 1100£! £1300

Hi

Got this recently in a trade, my third ACG. Must confess that this is the easiest 5-string I have ever played, your fingers just fly over the gorgeous fretboard. But I still find the (fully loaded) filter pre too versatile: there are so many sounds possible, that I keep on changing them, which keeps me from playing, if that makes any sense!

Otherwise, it is a MINT, beautiful bass (even better in the flesh), extremely well balanced, with a wonderful neck and a 'springy' B string - quality. The preamp is amazing: one filter per pickup and treble (all 3 are concentric boost/cut and freq, all with push/pull for mid/treble boosts), passive tone, volume, pan.

I am in two minds about selling it really, as it is up there with any world-class 5-string, but I have too many basses anyway, so let's see if there's any interest. Is it hard to get a sound out of mate with the wide variety of settings

Not difficult to get a variety of sounds, but it may be to find a particular sound you have in mind. For example, the basic neck and bridge (and both) sounds, super-bright or super-deep are dead easy (just use balance and tone, which is super-effective). The nuances in the mids is where the variety is immense (not only filters per pickup and boosts, but you can also select the push/pull boosted freq for low-mid and hi-mid through switches in the rear cavity, the amount of boost, etc). It's like having a POD in the bass!

That said, the bass plays so well that I am seriously considering to keep it!

Yes, the price includes shipping with UPS. It comes with a well-padded, rigid Sandberg soft case, which offers good protection. It will be well-packaged with bubblewrap and in a cardboard box, so safe for shipping in my experience, Thanks
