SICbass
So I've got an Indonesian 55-02 which I always play in passive mode. It sounds fine, but is then always wide open on the highs. I can control it on the amp, but some sound guys just leave it very trebley out front. What I'd like is to have is a passive tone control. Any suggestions? I am super un-techy and would have to get my guitar guy to do it. Forgive me if there's a dead obvious solution that I'm overlooking. ikay
The Lakland LH3 wiring diagram is here - https://www.lakland.com/tech-docs/LH-3%20Wiring%20Diagram%204-07.pdf . It would be pretty straightforward to add a passive tone in front of the preamp (after the vol and blend pots). The issue would be where to mount the extra control. Stacking the vol/blend to free up a hole for the tone would be ideal but not sure if that sort of pot configuration is available. Alternative would be to stack the vol/tone. A guitar tech should easily be able to sort you out.

xgsjx
What about putting flatwounds on it?
SICbass
What about putting flatwounds on it?
Not a bad idea, actually. I've been meaning to take the plunge with flats on a 5-string for a while now.
