sblueplanet Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Does anyone have any insight into purchasing a headstock tuner? I've never used one so is there a particular model, are they are as accurate, etc. Quote
discreet Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 (edited) Two here that I've used and liked: http://www.daddario....52-0ffc21bd25f1 http://www.korg.com/...ners/pitchclip/ Accurate, easy to use and not too heavy on batteries. The Korg Pitchclip is a one-button job which is way less confusing at gigs! Best to leave them on during your performance though, I'm forever losing mine. I've got an amp with a built-in tuner now, which frankly is a bit of a relief. Edited May 24, 2016 by discreet Quote
jkent Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I absolitely love this. Super efficient and easier than wasting space on a pedal tuner. I have that same DAddario one linked above I think, maybe an older version. Quote
sblueplanet Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Purchased a Boston BTU-150. Goes green when in tune, red when flat and orange when sharp. Auto cut-off when not in use or when unclipped. Simples! Quote
TheGreek Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I found most to be a false economy - yes they're cheap to buy but the replacement batteries make them financially nonviable long term. Get something you can daisy chain. Quote
discreet Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 If you don't otherwise have pedals it's annoying to go to the trouble of having one just for tuning. If you already have pedals, and a power supply, then it's not much extra faff. The Korg Pitchclip is the easiest clip-on I've found so far, and it's very good on batteries compared with the D'Addaro/Planet Waves tuners. Quote
bazzbass Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Get a TC Polytune, it is by far the best I've used, beats the cheap Snarks and even the expensive Peterson Stroboclip Quote
ped Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 This is what I do. Quote
miles'tone Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Korg-GripTune-Clip-On-Guitar-Tuner/dp/B01BL54V4I I've got this tiny one in permanent situ on my fretless Precision. So small, light and accurate it's amazing. No flies on my intonation now either! Quote
Musashimonkey Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 TC Polytune is by far the best I've ever used. Quote
