charic
Hi Guys, A friend of mine has had a band drop out of his wedding at the last minute. The wedding is in 6 weeks, they're looking for something "generally" palatable, Hour and a half of original music. Can anyone help out? If you can post up any links here I'll forward him a link to this thread. Thanks
Roger2611
Hi, These guys are not too far away and are a very good live band doing general covers http://boxeddy.com/ Mention Rog from Yodaclub recommended them to you

dannybuoy
Not sure what 'generally palatable' means, but the best originals band from Schneerts I know of is The Simpletone. They play rock ranging from ballads to heavy riffing, all original. Not sure they've ever played a wedding before but I'm sure they'd be up for it to help pay for the recording of their new album! Tell the groom to get his bum down the Vine in Buckden this Sunday if he wants to check them out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4AB7vdchck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCoNKdzGXSY Edited May 27, 2016 by dannybuoy

blue
Do originals bands usually play weddings in the UK? In the States 90% of the wedding business goes to DJs and 10% to function bands. Blue

Blue [/quote] i don't think it's too dissimilar here to be honest, but sometimes people just like something different. personally i can't see the standard wedding crowd reacting to an originals band as they would a covers band, but when it comes to weddings its a very personal thing.
