Been looking at getting another of these as a spare for my spare!
Cracking pedal for the money, even if you just use it as a DI.
Good deal here including p&p too.

WE're hoping to test one in the Herts Bash DI Shoot-out. I'm interested to see how a £21 pedal compares to one that costs serious bucks.

I`ve just recently got one of these - looking forward to seeing how it fairs in the shoot-out.

My reservation is having loads of really good equipment being influenced by a £21 pedal - logically it appears to be a silly thing to do. That said, it might be great if its the sound you are after. As a back-up DI - why not? The first couple of YouTube vids didn't inspire but what constitutes a "good sound" is a personal thing.

As mentioned above, if it's 'your' sound, you're quids in. I bought a second-hand one to try it out, and the next day, with Behringers 'quality issues' at the back of my mind, went out and bought a new one. Five years later, I'm still using the second-hand one, and the new one lives in my Gig Bag, just in case! Something I feel I should mention though, is that the Youtube videos don't do the pedal justice. It's much better in the 'real world' and in a Band situation, it really comes into it's own, to the point where, on Dep Gigs, I've had compliments from other Band Members on my sound.
At that price, you have very little to lose by trying one, to see if it fits you and your requirements.
(I've never played through a Sansamp, so the above is all IMHO)

Thanks for the link, been pondering one just for a gigbag backup DI. Used one of these (and Sansamps) for a while when I had, erm, 'blander' amps (LMIII, etc), and for the money they're very very good. In a band context, sound wise, there's very very little difference between these and the 'real thing'.

Not gonna be using it in my signal chain, as with the Magellan I don't need to, but as a DR backup, worth £20 all day...

Bought mine new for £24 a couple of years back. Accidentally let the smoke out by connecting it to a mains supply with the wrong polarity, but incredibly, it still works fine on battery.
Dont use it much since I tarted up my live rig, but it is nice as a quick & dirty bass DI for recording.
Not as nice as my original H&K Tubemen, but since they are now so old I generally have one in the shop being repaired and one working, it is handy to have the Sansamp-alike.

Reminds me I must get Tubeman #2 repaired. They are also pretty good for guitar AND keys.

Hiho, Also good for jam nights and things like that, just go straight through PA and forget plugging into that pile of sh*te they have backline that sounds like a wet fart in a tin box.
Rant over.
Always have one in your gig bag.

They did a blind A/B on TalkBass a few years back between this and a SansAmp, with a range of different settings. Nobody could really tell which was which. They're a bargain.

A Sansamp BDDI that sounds better for 15% the price?

The inescapable conclusion is that the components to make a good FET based overdrive pedal simple don't cost very much and that Tech 21 are charging a massive premium for being the gold standard in analog valve simulation.

If you look at the pricing of the VT bass pedal vs the VT 500 amp: £166 vs £401 (thomman prices) you are apparently getting a decent 500w class D power amp for an extra £235 which just doesn't add up.

If you look at behringer prices vs other gear they have moreorless cloned they usually come in at around 70% of the price of the original implying that the original was priced reasonable sensibly vs the base cost of manufacture. That clearly isn't the case here.

Depending on the sound you're after, the acoustic version is very good on bass as well, no drive but for a clean bass sound it has the addition of a sweepable mid control.

just got mine, doesn't seem to do anything that my zoom B1on doesn't do, still at this price I'll keep it, might come in handy for recording with, one thing though, what's with getting the numbers are wrong in the instructions? (there's no 10 on the diagrams) doesn't inspire confidence in quality control does it, and what's with those the switches on the sample settings and no blend or presence settings?, very confusing

B1on doesnt have a XLR DI out does it ?

I use mine with a b3 as a volume / tone shaping pedal , stomp on for when we do a Jam track to give me that big up in front middy in the mix with a little distortion.

saves a whole load of faffing to have 3-4 tones on tap.
no it doesn't have an XLR out, but I never need one when gigging, that's why I thought it might be good for recording, If I want a different tone for a particular track I just program another patch on the B1on, saves having 2 pedals

I'm struggling to understand your meaning here. The PDF of the manual https://media.music-group.com/media/PLM/data/docs/P0294/BDI21_P0294_M_EN.pdf has a number 10 (the input socket), the sample settings show all 6 knobs and no switches. Have you got the right instructions?

You play just using your amp with nothing going through FOH?
usually, but if we play a venue with a full PA I've never come across one that doesn't have have there own DI box, plus my Trace Elliot amp has a balanced DI out
