bubinga5
You can just see the music in his face, and his want of perfection and musical anticipation when he's playing. ! When he played for Chaka Khan on Naughty, He insisted on playing the same part over and over, until he thought he got it right. To go as far as stopping for hours to rehearse the bass part n his own, until he got to where it sounded good. He says it all right here of what he was about. Thats a man who's dedicated to music and his craft. Almost to the point of obsessiveness to an old fashioned way of thinking. But you gotta love him for it. Im not sure he's correct in some ways, as Stevie Wonder at that time was playing some epic bass synth lines, that could easily match anything he was or has played. Interesting person he was. some of his bass lines and musicality blow me away. And when he plays the funk……..good lord. Bilbo
Yep. It's way ahead of what most people are doing even today.
