Broadwalk - Machete Pop EP

When I was a young lad (13-15 years old) I was in a pop-punk band with some school mates. We were dedicated, hard working, and for our age pretty good (if I do say so myself). We used to put on gigs in our guitarist's garage with some other local bands and they always got closed by the local plod and countless gear was broken but it was great. I've been in a few bands since but for me, those were the glory days.

The other guys in the band went their own separate ways but we've always continued with music in some form or another and a few months ago made a decision to start writing music again. We're all a bit older now (all 27) We live in Didcot, Fleet and Brighton, use Southampton as our base of operations (guitarist went to uni there and can draw a reasonable crowd) and rehearse every fortnight in Woking. We've done a couple of gigs so far but i've rediscovered that love for music that I have been searching for years.

We recording this EP a few weeks ago, drums in a studio and the rest on the singers Mac, mainly to save money. Bass wise, I used my MIM P (with Duncan SPB3 pickups) into a sansamp then straight into the computer, and I'm really happy with the tone given the restrictions (I wanted to use my CTM100 and Ampeg 4x10 but his Mrs wasn't too keen!)

Anyway, enough from me, please take a listen and I hope you enjoy it.

and while you're at it, like us on Facebook...

Cheers!

Sounds great to me....... absolutely love your bass sound mate (I'm a massive fan of the SPB3 pickups - I've got some on a couple of my Precisions).

Which Sansamp was it and what settings did you use?

Thanks Mart... i used the "fat tube" setting from the manual and it was the basic BDDI sansamp.
