Marvin Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Others may find it quite dull, however, this was posted on Facebook and I thought it quite interesting to see what a pro player like Guy uses. ...and look, a Zoom B3. Badass Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Shame it's not sharper. I'm interested why he uses the B3 for. Thanks for the post though. Quote
chris_b Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 The comments when I looked. . . . Guy Pratt's board looks as messy as any cover band's gear. Don't the pros have people that make things nice and neat for them? TC Electronic Seriously. Who cares? As long as he gets the tone he wants. For instance, Eric Johnson has the most messy board in rock n roll history, and his tone is godlike! It's all about how you perceive your setup. Are they tools to enhance your trade or are they ornaments to make you look cool? +1 for TC. I guess TC thought people would be interested in how he gets his sound. It would seem that pro's have OCD over what and how they play and semi pro players have OCD about what they play on. Quote
ahpook Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) Is it any good for 'Meddle' ? Edited June 3, 2016 by ahpook Quote
LewisK1975 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I was interested to see that TC 'sub n up' octaver, which I'm assuming does a +1 octave as well as -1 and possibly -2. I use the micro POG for a +1 and it's great, but that TC looks to be much smaller! Quote

Good video on the TC site. Quote

BottomE Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Wow quite shocked by that! Looks like many years of experimentation have gone into getting a setup as complex as that. I wonder if there is stuff in there that isn't used? Where would you start if you were a non pedal user? Coming round to the idea of using some pedals (got a couple that live in my bag) but always worry about trying to problem solve if something goes wrong. 1 Quote
lefrash Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 And a synth wah perhaps? Just shows...... its not what you have, it's what you can do! Quote

Woodinblack Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 So the B3 is Delay, Tremelo and Tape Echo. I must admit to using the tape echo a bit. Quote
rmorris Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Coincidentally Guy Pratt was talking on Danny Baker's Radio 5 show earlier this morning. Very entertaining as always. Quote
Defo Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Victor Wooten uses a B3 as well, there's pictures of him teaching his son to play bass with one on the floor. Continually amazed by what mine can do. Quote
