Mikkel-S Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) I am thinking about moving this amazing P already as I dont really get along with Precision necks.. I am a Jazz-Bass kinda guy when it comes to neck feel. So I am open to trades with a nice early 70's J or late 60's.. Or maybe even a nice boutique J. High on the list is a US Lakland. Either Joe Osbourne or Bob Glaub with J neck! P-basses with J type necks are very welcome! Insanely well playing P. Extremely lightweight. 3.5 kgs! Very worn original black finish. Frets have been replaced many years ago along with a new tone pot. Everything else is original. Neck stamped 69 as well as serial and pot refers to 69. B-neck. Its a tone monster. Perfect P in every way. Will supply more pictures ASAP. Bass located in Denmark. Edited June 8, 2016 by Mikkel-S
Chiliwailer Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 In 1969 black was a custom colour so if that is the original finish it would have had a white pickguard with the thumb rest holes under the G string. If this is the one advertised on Bass Direct then the pick up has been rewound too, so it's not exactly all original as described. Bet it's still lovely though.

maut Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Wow, this one looks nice! It wood be interesting to see if the body has the holes for the thumbrest above the strings.
Chris Horton Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) The tuners look too new to me. I think tuners from that era should have a longer stem and have a nickel finish not chrome ? Tuners should match the finish of the string tree Edited June 3, 2016 by Chris Horton
Highfox Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I have a 69-70 Fender P "F-series" and the Tuners do look different to those. Think mine are Nickel. But then again Fender are known for their inconsistencies.
Mikkel-S Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 Im surrendering. No Fender expert. Bought it as a 69' P at Bassdirect. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Fender_1969_P_bass.html
Grangur Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) Nice demo video of this bass. But watch the guy in the mirror in the background at 0.39 http://www.youtube.c...d&v=zxWth2F3dC4 Edited June 3, 2016 by Grangur
three Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) Clearly a few changes/mods but a great looking bass and sounds good too. The video is brilliant - hard to listen from 0.39 in - thanks Grangur! Edited June 4, 2016 by three

sblueplanet Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Shouldn't there be holes either side of the bridge where the chrome ashtray cover would have been?
