yorks5stringer
Appalled that my license fee was used up by Rhod and some mate driving around in a number of Splitter Vans when they could have fitted into a Fiesta and avoided seemingly crashing into a number of obstacles. Did the voiceover in the Eddie Stobart programmes drive to the Depots in a 40 ton artic? As for the music? Pah!
BigRedX
How were the bands selected? How did they bring themselves to the attention of the programme makers? It was clearly filmed in the winter, but I don't recall hearing anything about it at that time...
IIRC there was a thread on here when the original call for entries came out some time last year. My band had a look at entering this but either we didn't fulfil the criteria or the rights issues regarding the use of the songs was too restrictive for us to consider it, I don't remember which. Mariner72
We got down to the interview stage. I think once they learned where Kingston upon Hull was they cooled off! Didn't fancy it myself, but would have loved to have talked all things Shergold 8 string with Hooky! Usually you have to pay taxi and train costs for presenters or get them in the car with crew. And skip having to pay camera, sound, director and others to drive to location, stick them all in one van! BigRedX
Does anyone still have a link or has saved a copy of the entry terms and conditions for this? If it was mostly that being in a band wasn't your main source of income, given the current state of the music business I think you'll find that a lot of well-known bands might have qualified... molan
Tried to watch this - found it to be absolutely as dull as ditchwater. The whole programme seemed to be about the presenters rather than the bands - cheap, cheap broadcasting

I missed the first half so may be there was more but a minute or so of the bands at the end was poor, imho.

I have a new found respect for Mr Jazzie. I quite liked the first one, although I agree that there seemed to be a bit too much Rhod ( whom I think is fantastic by the way, I love his sense of humour) and not enough music.
