If I were the defence team I'd just play this and leave it at that.

Seen this before, but it's all quite true of course. Fantastic. :)

Without having to resort to Google, what, pray tell, is Hubris? In all my 43 years on this earth I have never had the need to use this word. Am I missing out?
It means 'excessive pride or self-confidence', usually misplaced. I use it a lot. ;)

NOM

1 - Excessive pride or self-confidence:
"The self-assured hubris among economists was shaken in the late 1980s"

1.1 (In Greek tragedy...) Excessive pride towards or defiance of the gods, leading to nemesis.

Hubris is always followed by Nemesis.

Does that help at all?
And inevitably, Nemesis is followed - at some distance - by the horse I backed.

Ah I see..

As in " Look at that vocalist, He is exuding hubris?"
That's right, it's more of a vocalist/guitarist thing than a bass thing!

I thought Hubris were a prog band from Cumbria in the early seventies.

Insert Robert Johnson song and derivative blues works of choice. State that you are a descendant of Mr Johnson and consequently claim copyright infringement in all blues songs from all artists. How long before this one plays?

I reckon Pachelbel is owed a few bob too

I'm actually surprised that they found two hit songs that weren't written by the same team of 15 writers and producers... #oldcynic

Hubris + Hutzpah .... if anybody is looking for a new band name <_< (1% royalty non-negotiable) :)
But what if you were to spell Chutzpah correctly?
