Billy Apple Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 (edited) There's enough mass there to create its own black hole. Edited June 11, 2016 by Billy Apple Quote
taunton-hobbit Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 Great for metal - the handles are good too......the stack (at present) comprises a couple of built to order series 3000 (circa 280 watts each) & one Matamp slave 300 (again 280+ - these are all using KT120s for output).....one OR100 circa 1970, and one Orange Custom shop 30/50 plus a bit of electronic trickery/crossover in a matching cab that Jeff kindly built while I watched (impressive). The 'green' slave was bought from Oli Foxen, I promised I'd leave the crosses on the front, it seems they are part of its history.... Now you may understand why I run two Dubsters! Quote
taunton-hobbit Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 I wonder how many varieties of ormat there are? (scratches head and exits left, murmuring the opening bars of 'One Step Beyond') Quote
NancyJohnson Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I had an Orange Matamp (top left). Bought it at this ex-hire place in Chalk Farm, Landaan, late 70s. It had Davey Johnson's name stencilled on the back. My dad had it revalved at his workplace (MoD) and it caught fire when we were jamming in a friends bedroom, at which stage we were pouring Coke into it to put the flames out. It was a lovely amp. I dread to think what it would be worth now. Quote
paul h Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Keep going until the stacks are exactly the same height. Quote
lowregisterhead Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 My first proper bass rig consisted of an Orange head and a Laney 4x12, circa 1976. All I remember was the head was incredibly heavy. I hope you have road crew... Quote
