Higgie Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 Bump for a great sounding JV jazz bass in great condition for over 30 years old!
xroads Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) Whats the weight of this bass? Is the neck straight, and does the truss rod screw move in both directions? Thanks! Edited June 27, 2016 by xroads
Higgie Posted June 27, 2016 Author Posted June 27, 2016 I don't have any scales to hand at the moment, but it isn't heavy by any means, I would guess at between 8-9 lbs. the Truss Rod turns freely in both directions, and the neck is nice and straight.
Higgie Posted July 3, 2016 Author Posted July 3, 2016 No JV Jazz love? Had a few interesting trade offers but mainly looking for a sale. Grab a fantastic vintage Jazz in excellent condition at a great price!
Sharkfinger Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Had what was practically the twin of this on extended loan to me a few years ago. Eventually letting it go was very, very difficult. I liked it so much I went out and bought an '82 JV P straight away. Make no mistake, these are a truly outstanding instruments in every way. Also, he certainly doesn't need me to vouch for him but I've known Higgie for years and he is an excellent chap to deal with.
Higgie Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) It is an amazing bass - I also have 2 JV P's from 1982 so I know how good they are! Also thanks for the vote of confidence pal! Edited July 7, 2016 by Higgie
Higgie Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Final Price Drop £800. If it doesn't go for this I'm keeping her!
Sibob Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 What's the routing under the scracthplate like? I think the JVs (and Japanese in general) don't have any other routing like the new USA/Mexi ones right? Essentially, could you run it without a scratchplate? Cheers Si
lee650 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 It's the same as mine! And mine has no routing under the plate (as per the original fenders)so yes you can use without a plate 😆
