Happy Jack Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 So ... after a gig at the Dog & Duck, what do you do? I've done the hamburger thing. I've done the kebab thing. Now? Well my favourite is Honey & Banana cake (carbs, sugar high, moist) but that's hard to get these days. So mainly it's Sainsbury's Ginger Cake. Quote
casapete Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 In my younger days it was always a trip to a local Indian restaurant, probably spending most of my earnings from the gig. Then I went through a pizza phase. And now? Bug*er all, as I find in my advancing years that if I eat anything substantial late at night I will suffer a food hangover next day. Great getting old ain't it..... Quote
wateroftyne Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 A cup of tea, a digestive, and watch the news. I am SO PUNK ROCK. Quote
Raymondo Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Still do a combination of eat in or takeaway... Indian,Chineese, kebab,Mcdonalds, cheap late night garage sandwiches....No not all at the same time Mind you if you take notice of the weight I have put on you would have thought otherwise Quote
bonzodog Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 It was always a chicken tikka madras on way home when I was younger. Now by the time I've loaded the Pa back in the house it's a cup of tea and a bag of crisps. Quote
bassace Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 KitKat four fingers on the way home. Chocolate on the leather the morning after. Quote
BottomE Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Just a decaf coffee. Don't like to eat past 8pm. On a long distance gig i might pig out on some extra strong mints for the journey home. Quote
pete.young Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Anyone else remember The Plaza, Upper Brook St, Manchester? Quote
lowdown Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 (edited)
Anyone else remember The Plaza, Upper Brook St, Manchester?
Good grief ! I remember 'The Plaza Cafe' in that area and the infamous greeting from the manager. (What a place that was). So do a few others by the looks of it. http://www.arrse.co.uk/community/threads/the-elusive-plaza-cafe-biryani-recipe.106596/ Edited June 12, 2016 by lowdown Quote
Mudpup Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 i'm pretty much ready to eat my own leg at 1am after a gig....... anything will do, my quality control goes out of the window. however a Lamb shish with chilli and garlic sauce, red cabbage and salad is top of the list Quote

Lozz196 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Generally a Yorkie Bar and a cup of black decaf coffee with honey in it, as I relax in front of Basschat. Quality way to wind down. Quote
Muzz Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Played a gig at the Midland Hotel in Mcr last night, we asked about food, they said "We'll be serving at about eight, so it'll be either the food or the match". We opted for the match, went to the reception desk at eight to ask where the match was being shown. "We don't have it on anywhere in the hotel, I'm afraid. Oh, and you've missed the food." So it was Maccy D's at two on the way home... :/ Quote
Muzz Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Oh, and the Plaza? Yep, I'm a survivor of one of Charlie's Suicides. I still get flashcraps thirty years later... Quote

fretmeister Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 I miss those Nescafé self heating cans of coffee that seemed to be on sale for about a year. Very handy for a post gig caffeine shot before driving home. Quote
BrunoBass Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 3am doner meat and chips for me last night... Vile, I know. I don't know what made me do it! Quote
bertbass Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Coffee, cheese sandwiches and watch the F1 qualifying for me. Quote
jonnythenotes Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 i Pack up, drive home, and hope that 'er in doors has treated herself to a takeaway and saved me a bit. I'm so hungry, and still buzzin' from the gig, I don't even reheat it, just guzzle it cold, swilled down with a suitably chilled bottle of Bud or Miller..... Second on the list is a few scoops of Ben and Jerries ice cream....just to get a bit of sugar back in my blood stream... Quote
barneyg42 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Good two gig weekend including a late afternoon early evening Sunday gig, had to be followed by a nice hot ruby!!! Nice hot ring piece this morning!!! Quote
