Prices seems nuts at the moment. All at around the £10k to £12k mark!

You're looking in the wrong places, there's some on here way lower than that

Is there? I've not seen any? I've seen a lovely pre-CBS Precision on here but no Jazz Basses.

It's all about supply and demand - very good '60's Fenders have been in high demand recently and prices have risen a lot over the last two/three years.

As an owner of a '63J, a '68J and a '64P I'm quite pleased about this :)

The point is they're great basses and very rare compared to P Basses. The reissues have nothing on the real thing.

New Kings Road Guitars has one for £9k, or there abouts, but is absolutely complete to the last screw and is clean. A bargain if anything.

Try a Fender Roadworn Jazz. They're based on the '62 J - And they're absolutely stunning.
I'm sure it would be great to own a truly vintage Fender - but I'd be too afraid to take it out anywhere, for fear of theft or damage
