cetera
I'm looking at moving over to IEMs on a wireless system. I've been considering both the Sennheiser G3 EW300 and the Shure PSM300 Premium systems and I'm favouring the Sennheiser so far..... Anyone have any thoughts/experience with these? Also, in keeping to my approx £1k total budget I've been looking at the Shure SE535 earphones as they have triple drivers. I play bass in rock covers/tribute shows and sing some bv's and presume that these would do a good job? Anyone have any realistic alternatives/suggestions to the above, bearing in mind the approx £1k total budget? Thanks in advance!
LiamPodmore
EBS_Freak. Where are you sir?! In the meantime, there's a lot of useful info in here.
Bobthedog
Not sure I can help but I have a pair of SE535s and I used to tthink they were great until I moved up to full size cans (not for gigging, just for listening to music). My biggest complaint is getting them to fit properly. If they are not seated correctly the bass completely disappears. It always took a lot of fiddling to get a consistent fit. EBS_freak
Easy. Sennheiser EW300 and a set of UE900s (quad driver universals, dual lows). http://pro.ultimateears.com/ue-900s I would take UE over Shure any day. I've had a friend order from here - http://www.eglobalce...adphone-en.html - and despite the dubious looking website, when they arrived, they are the real McCoy. Compare to the price at Bax - https://www.bax-shop...-ear-headphones As for the Shure vs the Sennheiser systems, at that price point I'd take the EW300... basically due to its non fixed channels in the the RF section. They do however, both sound great and you'd do great with either. The pack of the premium Shure does feel slightly better than the Sennheiser... but the Sennheiser transmitter is both more feature rich and more premium in quality. To get the similar build quality and extended feature range, you have to go up to the PSM900 - which is a significant price hike. I would suggest buying the Channel 70 (Range E) version of the Sennheiser as you can use it license free (here and in some of Europe) - but if you find out that if you are getting problems with Channel 70, it will tune down low enough to 823-832Hz which is now included in the licensed mic license (which is aka as the channel 38 license... although 823-832 doesn't fit in the channel 38 spectrum). If you buy the channel 38 version (Region GB), you have no option but to license it to use it legally. Hope this helps. PS can recommend these guys for the IEM system - http://www.mercury-av.com/sales/Sennheiser-In-Ear-Monitoring.html Edited June 13, 2016 by EBS_freak
cetera
Thanks all - particularly EBS freak That UE900 price at eGlobal is £100 cheaper than at the Custom IEM company too...!Score...! Are there any better/more suitable In ears for up to £400 out there? I don't mind getting moulds done....
EBS_freak
You are going to struggle for custom quads at that price... But... How about the UE900s and this - http://www.custom-inearmonitors.co.uk/reshells-remoulds/reshelling-remoulding-service-for-in-ear-monitors.html
cetera
OK, cheers! I think I'll just go for the UE900s...... and if I want moulds I'll do that later. Thanks a lot!

You may find that the supplied tips are well suited to your ears, in which case, although being lovely to wear, customs may be an unnecessary expense. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
