Kiwi Posted June 20, 2016 Share Posted June 20, 2016 I've used the 3 band parametric circuit exclusively and they're great although a little on the quiet side. Klaus is great to deal with and has even provided some modified circuits with input buffers, extra gain and modified range for each band. Which circuit are you going for? [/quote] Going for the basic PA1-jb I think on the reccomendation of the builder. I too am not really an active kind of guy (very inactive in fact! ;-) and usually just play a passive P or J but I thought I might like an active option... Can't really see a downside as long as I can switch to passive if I fancy it which no doubt I will :-) I'm thinking if I keep it simple to dial in there's more of a chance I might use the active option though... Kiwi Posted June 21, 2016 Share Posted June 21, 2016 OK, also have a think about the HAZ Lab single pot tone control. It's frequency centres are absolutely bang on for a fatter, warmer sound. spyder Posted June 21, 2016 Share Posted June 21, 2016 I've used the Noll and Glockenklang preamps and find them very clean and hifi sounding. The treble pot has a very high range and will only effect the click of the strings, also the bass is low at around 40Hz if I can remember correctly.
