mrmcgoo1964 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Hi there does anyone know if a 4+1 bass will fit in the standard Hiscox bass case? Specifically a Yamaha bb1025. Thanks Quote
Grangur Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Ok, joking aside. I've just put my 4-string P-bass into a Hiscox. On the tuner side, there is, on mine a good amount of space. Where the +1 tuner would be, there is a reasonable amount of space. This space varies as the bass can move a bit. The tuners on mine project about 45mm from the side of the headstock. It's possible that the space in the case, at the other side of the headstock could be about 45mm, but the tuner would be permanently against the side of the case. If you're looking for a case for general carrying about, it would probably be ok. If you're looking at this as being an insurance against damage if it were dropped on that corner - find another case. zbd1960 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Oh that Hiscox cello cases where as inexpensive as bass ones Quote
Matt P Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I am using a Hiscox for a Squier Precision 5 string which is 4+1 and it fits perfectly well, no issues with the tuners hitting the case sides. I could take a picture tonight if you want to see what the clearance is actually like. I only use Hiscox cases as they are the only ones I trust (currently 3 bass cases, 2 acoustic cases and 3 electric cases.) Matt Quote
Telebass Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I bought a Std EBS for my 425, it fitted perfectly. Quote

M@23 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Good to know it fots a 4+1. I've been thinking about a Hiscox for my Sadowsky 5. I emailed them and they can supply additional pads to pad out the case. That's my main concern with standard 'one size fits all' cases, that the bass would rattle around in there. Quote
