Westenra Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Just a quickie, is the correct spacing for jazz pups 4 inches (101mm to us metric lot) pole to pole? Quote
Westenra Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 70s, I'm converting my PJ jaguar to a jazz so the bridge pup is already in place, just need to know how far apart the neck has to be. Quote
dannybuoy Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) I'd measure where the bridge pup is first - if it's in the 60s position and you apply 70s spacing between them, your neck pup will be too far north! I've seen PJs where the bridge pup is quite far back and others where they are pretty close to the P pup. Edited June 23, 2016 by dannybuoy Quote
machinehead Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Measure from the nut. Everything else is variable as the bridge is adjustable. Frank. Quote

Westenra Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 Ok from the nut; Bridge - 86 cm Poles of the bridge pup - 80 cm So is it 60/70s? Quote

[/quote] That would be the standard 60s position for a bridge pickup. The neck pickup is 91mm apart (poles to poles) in a 60s spacing Jazz. So you can convert your bass to 60s spacing Jazz.
