artisan
tried many basses at GBBL today thinking i wanted a modern active funk machine. how wrong was I. as soon as I picked this baby up I wanted it,good old school thump & a total joy to play. cracking deal off Drew,a good natter & a couple of coffees later home it came. it is a Japanese made Tokai Hardpuncher with a swamp ash body & lovely glossy neck/fingerboard - yum yum. beautifully made, sounds just like you think it should & came with a nice vintage style tweed hard case, for a lot less than one with an "F" on the head stock. JapanAxe
Good call! I've been there too, several times - go out thinking you want a particular thing, come home with a Precision!
pete.young
Looks almost identical to my not-for-export CIJ Precision. Note that fender Japan has ceased production, is it likely that the same factory is producing instruments for Tokai? Anyway, very nice looking bass. Deedee
Beautiful. I must admit after years of being a Stingray man, I too am really enjoying that 'plug & play' simplicity of a decent Precision.

Lozz196
Yep, great basses Hardpunchers, really not much difference at all from actual Precisions.
DaytonaRik
I love mine - even though it's primarily my back-up I do enjoy giving it a run out now and again. In fact, it might get an airing tonight!
artisan
Thanks guys I'm so pleased vwith it mind I do like vintage frets & gloss finished necks. As mentioned above, just plug & play, you don't really need anything else.(this week)

(this week) [/quote] I've spent years trying out different basses from different manufacturers and have had quiet a few through my hands over the years. My first serious bass (1976) was a Precision. My latest bass (2016) is pretty close to perfect, IMHO. It's a Precision. Edited June 25, 2016 by discreet
