Musashimonkey
Just get a Cruztools Cheater Driver - http://www.cruztools.com/cheaterdriver.html I got one to do minor adjustments on my 62 AVRI Jazz (same truss access as the Flea), but I haven't needed to take the neck off since!
Perfect, thanks. 😊

Musashimonkey
I removed the scratch plate and used a narrow flat-head driver on mine. When I feel it needs a tweak I will remove the neck though. I think that would have been easier.
Thanks, I went for neck removal, but thought removing the scratch plate might be better next time! 😊

They should offer a MIM Roadworn version of this with a good quality Musicman style pickup + pre-amp. I'd pay a good £1000+ for that. michele
Mine arrived this morning. Purchased from Coda-Music. I pulled the trigger while the bass was still in their warehouse, they shipped literally two hours after I clicked the "send payment" button on their site. It arrived still in the sealed/unopened cardboard they received from the Fender, so they didn't even inspect/setup the bass. You bet ... has the typical Fender factory setup which is too high for my taste. This evening I'll give it a full setup, then I'll write more in detail. First impressions are however positive. Mine weight in at 9 lbs. So not the featherweight that some of you had but I find it very well balanced and I really prefer my basses to have a solid feel. My ideal weight is in the 8-9 lbs region, so this one check the box for me.
Musicman20
9lbs is decent.
King Tut
Mine arrived today, also sealed. The neck had a lot of relief in it. I've put half a turn into the truss rod and it's now practically straight. Action dropped by doing this to a tad over 2mm at the 12th with not a hint of rattle anywhere so for the time being I've left it as it is. The back volume knob was slightly crooked so I've straightened it, but now it's hard to move the tone knob without the volume knob moving. Any tips? A nice 8lb 8oz for mine. The thing plays and sounds bloody awesome. I've also got an avri 64 and these are supposed to have the same pups, but this one sounds much more authoritative. It's hard to compare as I've now changed the pups in the 64 and it has flats but I don't ever remember it sounding like this. I seldom buy instruments unseen but I struck lucky with this one. No dead spots and I reckon it's the best Jazz I've ever owned. Happy boy! Edited July 14, 2016 by King Tut
sblueplanet
I'd love a lefty one of these but I doubt that's gonna happen. If anyone is interested I spotted a Flea signature on ebay at the moment for £690.

Musicman20
Mine is going nowhere. I know we ALL say this, but I've not had a Jazz bass this comfortable, ever. So I intend to use it as much as possible and keep it.

Ruiner
I pre-ordered one of the original batch from Kenny's when Karl first posted the link. Had it since the start of the month. It's one of the heavier ones compared to others on here weighing 9lbs exactly but it sounds and plays amazing. Used it on a track in the studio last weekend and was really pleased with the recorded sound too. Couldn't really afford it but have no regrets whatsoever.
