I'm one of the previous owners, the only reason I let it go was I had to make a decision either to keep my Fender P-Bass or the Lakland. It realy is a fantastic bass
mr_russ Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Good idea, I shall do - I won't have time until tomorrow evening though - I think it calls for new strings though
KennysFord Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Absolutely nothing dodgy about that video at all, nice work !! oh, and good luck with the sale.
mr_russ Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 bump reduced to £475 - I'll get another vid up this evening if I manage to get time, new strings and a demo of the range of sounds available R
flutophilus Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008
bump reduced to £475 - I'll get another vid up this evening if I manage to get time, new strings and a demo of the range of sounds available R
Hi, Am I right that the standard Glaub is very like a standard P-bass in feel ? Can you tell me what the mods are please - and is it a P-bass type neck - thanks.
mr_russ Posted October 29, 2008 Author Posted October 29, 2008 Yep tis indeed - it's modeled on bob glaub's 1964 precision - the neck has a pbass profile. It's got a villex precision pickup, rotary tone booster and mid shape circuit - it's all passive and the tone booster is particularly good. R

mr_russ Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 bump - still available - and I'm still gassing for that valve amp
mr_russ Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 still available - I might be able to put the extra on top if someone wants to trade a 55-02 (lakland electronics) or a JO5
mr_russ Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 (edited) Here's the long overdue video demonstrating the electronics - firstly, the strings are brand new elites stadiums 40-100, lighter than my usual 45's they've not had chance to calm down and I've not bothered to sort the truss rod out to compensate for the lower tension - so forgive the w***y nature of the clip, I got carried away It does sort of do the job though. I start with the booster off and the tone rolled back a tiny bit, do a bit of fingerstyle and a bit of slap before going up to the next setting. I then turn the booster off and turn the mid shape to 50% followed by 100%, then 50% on mid shape and #2 on booster ... I think, can't really remember but you can hear the differences - I think it sounds excellent even with the zingy strings. When they finally bring out a skyline 5 string glaub, I'm having one. It sounds Tits M'Chicken with a pick aswell. Edited November 13, 2008 by mr_russ
ezbass Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I love the Too Young To Die demo. I'd really like that bass but haven't got the money at the moment until I sell some stuff. Have a free bump.
