Yes but only on the 3rd Tuesday of the month :P

EDIT. Looks like I may be getting offered a spectacular trade, which I don't want to do. :( But I'm weak and the trade is gorgeous , so this might be gone tomorrow

I'm gonna post this here too because that status "Pino" is mine hope you dont mind karl.

Hi Karl , after some careful thought overnight on the trade I don't think i'm ready to give up the status . Your'e right it was a gift from my SO for a landmark birthday and it doesn't seem right to trade it away for another Jazz ,no matter how nice a jazz it is.

I can see the argument coming now ... where has the status gone ( she remembers the names of basses that i have that she likes ) . This one usually hangs on the wall to the left of her desk at home, Why is there a bass that looks VERY similar to your orange one ( sunburst 70's jazz) in some green colour ...... " YOU DID WHAT " .... lyle is chased around the house by his angry Russian Significant other wielding a nearby bass as a club.

I'm sorry to string you along like this but you wanted that stack knob right i was just throwing the cat amongst the pigeons .

No prob Lyle.
I guessed that with the spec it had, it was both fairly recent and custom specced. And thus quite a personal bass. Didn't quite envisage the full scenario and the pain you could find yourself in

Glad you listened to old Uncle Karl.

Hmmm.

Some options that are only available on even more expensive Custom Shop.
Virtually as new except for that damn dint.
Only a year old.

Price asked is 38% less than a new one would cost, despite it's generally excellent condition.

Yet still, only a couple of folk interested

I can only conclude;
few folk like custom colour Sherwood Green Metallic
few folk like Adam Clayton
:)

I have one of these basses and it is epic. Hands down the best jazz I've ever owned (and I've been through a few).

I've seen some people (including the sales guy at the shop I got mine from) refer to it as being basically an American standard with a nice paint job. It's so much more than that. It's the only bass I've owned where people have come up to me post gig and literally gush about the noise it makes.

If I could have a second one in a different colour, I would. In a heartbeat.

Thank you.
Marinus (Aero71, comment above yours) is one of the guys I've dealt with, on the continent. I am now happy to discuss outside UK with potential buyers.

Ta :D
If it was an American standard (currently around £1175 new, sunburst £1225), it would have the following upgrades,

custom metallic colour
matching headstock
vintage style "lollipop" tuners
blocks on fretboard
special Custom Shop 60's vintage pick ups
satin finished custom profile C neck
pearlised white scratchplate

I've seen used 2015 American Standards up for £900, so, as one or two have commented, this is a good price.

Further pm's replied, thanks folks.

A black, HH Bongo most tempting so far, but I know I don't get on with fully active basses :( . Shame, cos black Bongos look the poodle's privates.

  • 2 weeks later...

Unless somebody comes in with something like a Road Worn P and £250, it's most likely to be still here Damon. Unlucky

Once again, UK only (in theory). As ever, lot of interest from the continent. So, I will consider it.

IF YOU ARE WILLING TO ORGANISE AND PAY FOR YOUR OWN INSURED COURIER, we can talk :)
