DBerriff Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Another of the all-time greats has left us. RIP. Quote
Cat Burrito Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I studied Scotty's playing in detail when I moved onto guitar. He is the original and the one who inspired everybody's favourite player. I have his autographed picture in my bedroom and I think today a little bit of rock 'n' roll history died. Quote
paddy109 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Those early recordings with Scotty, Bill and Elvis - Oh my! Goosebumps every time. Quote
GarethFlatlands Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Real shame, I was never an Elvis fan but I remember seeing a video of them playing live and being blown away by Scotty's guitar playing. Seems an appropriate time to go an learn some of his lines. Quote
casapete Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I actually had the privilege of meeting Scotty at a guitar show in Dallas in the early 90's. He was on a stand with nobody talking to him, just couldn't believe a real life legend was being overlooked . Stood and chatted with him for a long while, and found him a great man who was so modest about his part in the birth of rock n roll. One of the absolute key players in popular music, sadly missed. RIP. Quote
