lowhand_mike Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 currently watching/listening to them live at Bonnaroo, deliriously good. Les is his usual imperious self and Sean can really rip it up on guitar and dont arf sound like his dad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAEHyKi0eP8 just putting it up here for those that may have an interest. Slightly more normal songs but nothing is going to be totally normal with Les involved Quote
NancyJohnson Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I read about this in Bass Player...I keep forgetting to add them on Spotify. All done. That's my drive home sorted! Quote
ivansc Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 l LOVE Les's tone on that. Sorta early Chuck Rainey on steroids... Quote
NancyJohnson Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Jeepers...I had a listen. Really, really not for me. Best I can describe is you know when youre a bit stressed and you get a dull ache in your chest? Listening to it was a bit like that. I was just willing it to get going. It was actually making me feel anxious. Quote

4stringslow Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Well it was good for me. Thanks for the link Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Does anyone know what the bass played by his partner in GOASST is. Can't make out the name on the body, could be Framus? http://ks.c.yimg.jp/res/chie-que-14152/14/152/524/344/i320 Quote
cheddatom Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I saw it on the suggestions on youtube, and I'm a massive Claypool fan* so I checked it out. I only lasted about 10 minutes. Maybe I should have given it longer? I really did not enjoy it at all *I saw him on his solo tour and it was one of my favourite gigs ever, and I've watched my Primus live DVDs several times etc. Quote

Cestrian Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 It's a Wandre Davoli Tigre Basso. Italian from the mid '60s. Aluminium neck. I've got one. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Thanks for that, super quick. I did wonder if it was some brand new boutique thing with a retro vibe. Almost as cool as its owner... Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I much prefer Les's other supergroup, Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains: Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 While we're at it, any ideas on Lennon's guitar? Looks like a modified Jazzmaster with a starcaster neck or something... Quote

Skybone Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Both were surprisingly good. Sean's guitar looked like a semi Jazzmaster, with twin humbuckers and a Stairmaster/Coronado neck Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Stairmaster! Would the target market for that be the older player? Gotta love auto-correct! Quote
Skybone Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 I know Sean's knocking on now, but I don't think he's quite ready for a Stairmaster. Damned auto correct! Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Found it! It's a BilT guitar, Zaftig model with about all the options you could load. http://www.biltguita...the-zaftig.html I can sleep properly now Quote
